This Bhutanese thangka features Vajravarahi, a fierce dakini deity from the Drugpa Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Dakinis are female deities who represent wisdom, energy, and compassion. Vajravarahi is particularly associated with transformation and the destruction of ignorance.

Vajravarahi is depicted dancing in a wrathful form. She holds a curved knife and a skullcup filled with blood, representing her ability to cut through ego and delusion. She is surrounded by seven other yoginis, each of a different color, representing the different aspects of her wisdom and power. At the top of the painting are three teachers, including the Je Khenpo, the senior spiritual teacher of Bhutan.

You'll receive framed, heavyweight, giclée, acid-free print that's created to last for generations.
