This complexity has led some scientists to speculate that the octopus may have extraterrestrial origins. The theory is that the octopus may have been brought to Earth by comets or meteorites, which would explain its unique genetic makeup. However, this theory is still highly speculative, and more research is needed to determine the true origins of the octopus.
