  • Hakuin, one of the greatest Zen masters for whom art was a means of conveying esoteric messages, here combines thickly brushed, gray-to-black-toned calligraphy, typical of his later years, with a bold, simple image of Bodhidharma (in Japanese, Daruma), the founder of Zen Buddhism.

In ancients texts, Bodhidharma meditated by facing a cave wall for 7 years. An ancient Zen Buddhist sutra reads: "When one abandons the false and embraces the true, one finds that there is neither selfhood or otherness, and that ordinary men and saints are of one essence."

This giclée, acid-free print comes ready to hang with its own hand-crafted, solid-wood hangers. Discrete magnetic fasteners to keep your print secure. It's an elegant and contemporary way to showcase your art. Prints use eco-friendly, water-based inks.

    • Each hanging kit contains four wooden strips with color coordinated cords
    • Magnetic fasteners hold your print in place without tearing or marking
    • Museum-quality Enhanced Matte Art (EMA) paper is both beautiful and strong
    • The lightly-textured, matte finish captures fine lines and subtle colors, resulting in stunning works of art

Excellent copy of the original Hakuin painting.

I was very happy with the painting when received. It was a little difficult to imagine exactly what was ordered beforehand. Only issue was the length of time it took for shipping.
