In Japanese mythology, Raijin is the god of lightning, thunder, and storms. He is also known as Raiden, Kaminari-sama, and Narukami. Raijin is the son of the creator god, Izanagi, and is one of the oldest and most important gods in the Shinto pantheon.

Raijin is often depicted as a fearsome, muscular figure with wild, unkempt hair and a fierce expression. He is usually shown holding a drum or a staff, which he uses to create thunder and lightning. In some depictions, Raijin is shown with three fingers, which represent the past, present, and future.

Despite his fearsome reputation, Raijin is also considered a protective deity and is often invoked for protection from natural disasters, such as thunderstorms, earthquakes, and typhoons. In some parts of Japan, people pray to Raijin for protection from these events, and it is believed that he can bring good luck and prosperity to those who honor him.
